ABC's program is based on the belief that children are always learning. Whether they are being rocked to sleep, singing a song at circle time or being soothed after a fall, they are learning. Our goal is to ensure that they are learning that the world is safe, kind and full of wonder when they are with us! We believe that if children feel safe and cared for, if they form trusting relationships with loving caregivers and if they are exposed to a variety of fun, enriching experiences, they will thrive!

ABC acknowledges that part of effective nurturing is to give a child a solid academic foundation. We currently use the High Reach Learning curriculum (www.highreach.com). All High Reach activities and projects fulfill the Early Learning Standards and are consistent with the National Association of Young Children guidelines for curriculum content. Bible-based values, stories, songs and activities are also a part of our program. Teachers have access to a wide variety of materials and resources to supplement the curriculum and enrich the development of the children they care for. These materials are selected to encourage cognitive development, increase cultural awareness, enhance fine and gross motor skills and to inspire imaginative, creative play.

It is also our conviction that an important component of a healthy childhood is to have lots of fun! Each classroom has a wide variety of toys, games and hands-on activities that not only facilitate learning, but are also great fun to play with. In addition to having spacious outdoor playgrounds, both ABC locations offer indoor large motor areas where kids can run, throw balls and tumble on gym mats regardless of the weather outside! We also have many special events throughout the year. Some of those events:

        *Beach Party: Each winter we have a beach party in the all-purpose room to help relieve our cabin fever!

        *Pre-K Graduation: In June we have our Pre-K graduation and family luncheon.

        *Water Play: During the summer months we beat the heat with weekly water play!

        *Harvest Party: Every October we have a Harvest Party with pumpkins, hayrides and more!

        *Christmas Program: In December we have a special Christmas Pageant with drama and songs.

        *Sled-Riding Party: When the snow falls, we pull out the sleds and have a sled-riding party
                                          (with hot chocolate,of course!)

Choosing a childcare center is one of the most important and difficult decisions a parent makes. Daycare centers, like people, have different personalities and each family has to find the one that is most compatible with their needs, values and goals for their children. At ABC, we believe that life is meant to be lived to the fullest, that laughter truly is the greatest of medicines and that young children don't need grown-up pressures!
